REGIONAL NETWORK ON HOMELESSNESS
The Cape and Islands Regional Network on Homelessness is a collaborative effort of state, county and local government, social service providers, housing agencies, faith-based organizations, the business community and individuals working together to prevent and end homelessness.

Barnstable County Sheriff’s Office- Community Service
The purpose of the Community Service Program is to provide the Cape Cod Community with free inmate labor in support of worthwhile municipal and non-profit organization projects. For veterans in need we provide a variety of services including exterior painting, carpentry, landscaping, masonry, re-roofing, re-siding, demolition, moving services and the construction of handicap ramps. Veterans need a sponsoring organization to make the request on their behalf.

We help provide home alterations and modifications for Veterans with injury or disability. We also can help with their property around their homes.
Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach, Housing and Homelessness Prevention Program?
The SSVF Program is a federally funded initiative to prevent and eventually eliminate veteran homelessness.
It provides temporary financial assistance in the form of both rental arrears to prevent homelessness as well as first month and security deposits to veterans who are already literally homeless. It can also assist temporarily with funding of certification and educational programs, fuel assistance, vehicle repair, and childcare if alleviation of these expenses can be shown to directly support housing stability.

Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach
Single Room Occupancy Program
The Cape and Islands Veterans Outreach Center’s SRO program provides 16 single rooms, in
two separate group houses, to single homeless veterans who qualify. There is a two year limit on the veterans’ stay in the SRO, the goal being that he or she is working toward financial independence and employment and housing stability during this temporary stop-gap to protect him or her from homelessness.

Duffy Health Center
Our mission is to improve the quality of life for persons who are homeless or at risk of homelessness on Cape Cod through community collaborations and the provision of integrated medical, mental health, addiction treatment, case management and housing support services.

FALMOUTH HUMAN SERVICES
- Free mental health and substance abuse counseling by licensed, professional staff to any Falmouth resident who has no health insurance, is unable to afford their deductible and co-pays, or for any other reason may be unable to access mental health care in the private sector.?
- Centralized information (in person or via web site) about human services and resources in the Falmouth or Cape Cod area
- Consultation, outreach and/or advocacy services to Falmouth residents and organizations in the Falmouth community
- Promotes collaboration among town departments, human service agencies and community and regional organizations to enhance and expand services to residents.
- Provides a clinical internship to a master’s level graduate student from an accredited social work school.
Harwich Ecumenical Council for the Homeless (HECH)
Owner/manager of affordable rental units in the Towns of Dennis, Harwich and Yarmouth.
Administers rental assistance programs for residents of the Town of Eastham
Provides town-funded housing rehabilitation programs for emergency home repairs for income qualifying home owners in Brewster, Chatham, Orleans and Yarmouth;
Manages the Libby Arnold Stevens Resident Stabilization Fund providing emergency assistance to year-round residents
Actively helps families’ access resources and assistance from a variety of available sources.
Heroes in Transition (H.I.T)
Heroes in Transition (H.I.T), provides funding for veterans and military familiesin need of home modifications to accommodate service related disabilities. Funding is also provided for one time mortgage payments, rent, fuel assistance etc through the Housing Assistance Corporation of Cape Cod (HAC) and St. Vincent De Paul Society in Mashpee and Sandwich.

South Coastal Counties Legal Services, Inc.
South Coastal Counties Legal Services with its subsidiary, the Justice Center of Southeast, Massachusetts is the principal provider of free, non-criminal civil legal assistance to financially eligible low income Veterans and their family members living in Southeast, Massachusetts, Cape Cod and the Islands.
SCCLS ensures vulnerable veterans and their families get the legal services they require to acces the judicial system and overcome legal barriers to personal safety, financial security, educational attainment, individual rights, and adequate food and shelter.

VET CENTER PROGRAM – Hyannis
We welcome home war Veterans with honor by providing quality readjustment counseling in a caring manner. We provide a broad range of counseling, outreach, and referral services to eligible Veterans and their family members. We can help link you to VA housing programs and case managers, as well as refer you to local agencies for assistance with housing.
All services are free and confidential to eligible Veterans.
Additionally, individual and group counseling for trauma, readjustment, substance abuse, sexual trauma, employment, marital and family issues, and bereavement are offered.
